The Lord is sufficient! Do I really believe that? So many times, I find myself relying on anything but the Lord...other gods in my life.
The Scripture passage that O.C. refers to today is, again, in Joshua. The people of Israel are telling Joshua that they commit to serving the Lord and obeying Him. Joshua then says to the people in verse 23, "Throw away the foreign gods that are among you and yield your hearts to the LORD, the God of Israel".
This passage, along with MANY others in Scripture, points to the fact that, in order to serve the Lord, we have to "throw away the foreign gods". Anything that we serve other than God Himself is considered another "god" in our life.
We CAN believe that He is all sufficient! "It is a deliberate commitment." (O.C.)

If the Lord is not sufficient,it is because we have not yielded totally! What joy to let go and give it all to Him so that He can rid us of every remnant of bondage to sin. Yes, absolutely, we must throw away anything that hinders - any foreign god - yield and behold the mighty God we serve; Who IS Sufficient far above all we can ask or think! Praise His Holy Name!
