Many times a day I exhibit my trust in a power by flipping switches around my house- and usually there is an immediate result- light! But, occasionally, nothing happens. Power failure! Think of the many conveniences we depend on and trust in- which all eventually will fail us. God is the power Who never lets us down- never fails!
Often we look at the parent/child relationship as a good example of our relationship with God. Parents sacrifice for their children; they protect, provide, discipline, train, and love. But the paradigm is flawed. Parents aren't perfect; they tire, they are weak, and sometimes they just don't know what to do.
But God is always faithful. He is ever true to His Word. God's Word contains many, many promises to us, His people. They are true, and we can always depend on it- expect it!! God promises good- and even punishment; Hebrews 12: 6 comforts us with the fact that God disciplines us because He loves us. Even our discipline is a reminder of God's faithful love. We are His!
Our God is faithful! He is faithful to keep His promises (Deuteronomy 7: 9), He is faithful to forgive (1 John 1: 9), He is faithful to be there when we need Him (1 Corinthians 10: 13), and He is faithful when we are faithless (2 Timothy 2: 13). One of my most frequent prayers is: Thank you, Lord, for being faithful to me- even when I have not been so to You! I love You, Father! Thank You for your faithfulness!

What great examples! I am so thankful to be able to absolutely count on the Truthfulness of God's Word that tells us over and over of His Faithfulness to keep His covenant and mercy with those who love Him and keep His commands - even to a thousand generations!!!
Thank you, Father!
