June 24 - Reconciling Yourself to the Fact of Sin

I like O.C.'s comparison in today's devotion. He compares being "pure" to being "innocent". "The so-called innocent man or woman is never safe", he says. I can see how some would believe they are innocent in today's society because that is the way some churches preach to their congregation. They may never directly address "sin". O.C. warns us to guard against this when he says, "Always beware of any assessment of life which does not recognize the fact that there is sin."

Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Knowing this, we must practice righteousness because, "He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous." (1 John 3:7)
