April 23 - The Worship of the Work

Yipee, we are free! Don't we sometimes forget it? We, who are charged with spreading the "good news" that Christ paid the price so that we can be children of God, often walk around in bondage of our own construction. We become burdened with working "for the Lord" and end up loosing our joy. What is the fix for this? Oswald puts it so well: "The one concern of a worker should be concentration on God"... "When once the concentration is on God, all the margins of life are free and under the dominance of God alone."

Let me know if you aren't walking a little taller and smiling a little brighter after reading today's devotional!

I have to remind myself all the time that He does the work and my responsibility is to yield to the Holy Spirit and to the Word/Jesus Christ! It is all about relationship and abiding in Him: Knowing Him enhances Trust; Trusting Him enhances love and obedience, and love and obedience brings us full circle back to abiding... PTL! His provision, His work, means we can enjoy Abundant Life right now!
